​Donald Trump has positioned himself as a key figure in attempting to bring an end to the ongoing war in Ukraine. Throughout his political career, Trump has maintained a controversial and complex relationship with both Ukraine and Russia. While some supporters see his attempts at peace as pragmatic and necessary, critics remain skeptical of his motivations and broader geopolitical stance.

Trump’s Approach to the Ukraine Conflict

Trump has repeatedly stated that he could end the war in Ukraine "within 24 hours" if given the chance. He claims that his diplomatic skills and unique relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin would allow him to broker a peace deal quickly. Trump has argued that the Biden administration’s approach—providing military aid to Ukraine while imposing sanctions on Russia—has prolonged the conflict rather than resolved it.

3. Mixed Record on Ukraine
While Trump provided military aid to Ukraine during his presidency, he was also impeached in 2019 for allegedly pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden’s family in exchange for military assistance. This history complicates Trump’s current position as a potential peace broker.
